3 Concisely-explained Interior Styles followed in India

Hey peeps, so today i would like to share the 3 simple, attractive and classy interior styles of designs! These 3 styles are my recommendations for every household to try. Interior designing is something that can drastically change the way your house looks so if you are interested in decorating your personal spaces, the go ahead and only do so with an interior designer ! And a qualified one at that ! Your house will then be in safe hands!!

I have selected these 3 styles which is suitable for every indian household. Let us look at all of these styles one by one. These styles do not follow a specific guide to own a certain type of item. All of these styles fall under the 'eclectic' style of interiors.

  • Bohemian Style - This form of style is my personal favourite because it oozes charm and simplicity. To start with, lay a jute, velvet or a cotton rug on the floor. Adorn your sofa with different color pillows. It may be anywhere between 2-10 maybe ? Actually the more the pillows, the better it gets. Even though there is no specific set of rules for this style, it still needs work to get it right (All styles do actually). This style focuses more on layering and mixing different patterns and textures which is a plus because then we can add whatever we want to introduce in the said space right! So this style makes way for all the funky and bold patterns that you'd like to experiment with. One can also experiment with shapes like a semi circular arch or any shape arch. This style also includes low seating adding to that serene vibe.

Also, this style lets you use all your handmade stuff ! Trust me, this style will only get better with the unfinished stuff! One also has to include indoor plants to stay true to this style. Be it in any shape and form but just the inclusion of greenery forms an important part of this style. Coming to the wall colors, the colors can be of your choice but i would suggest white and other neutrals to give the room that much required classy touch. Avoid chunky furniture pieces in black. You can do up the walls with a matching wallpaper or just leave it blank with the chosen paint. You should add like big ornamental pieces in your room and you are ready with a perfectly bohemian home! While having the liberty of not sticking to a particular trend of elements, you have a fine furnished home aligning with your likes.

    • Traditional Style -  This form of style is the most common type of style that is adopted and is the description of a typical indian household. Who wouldn't want such a form of style which includes some element from all over the world ? India has diverse cultures so we should do justice to that. You could include a souvenir to adorn your home every single time you travel within India! How fascinating is that right ?! This time, let us start with the wall colors. In this style, the walls are usually painted with bright and strong colors, usually in the shade of browns and ochres or rustic colors. Wooden pieces of furniture in traditional style with Indian motifs are a part of this style. Floorings like marble, granite or tiles are used to keep the home cool in India's warm climate. In case it gets too cold, one can always wear some warm slippers! In this style, there is a lot of prints (be it on curtains, cushions or carpets, it all works) and adorning elements like wall hangers, photo frames, etc. The materials that can be used are cotton prints, jute pillow cases or wall hangers, linen curtains, fibre rugs, etc. This style includes a low seating as well (baithak).

    •  Contemporary style - This style of interior design follows crisp line patterns and a light color trend. The word 'contemporary' means the style of the prevailing times which nowadays is stylish and modern. It includes the use of fabrics such as velvet and leather which adds to the richness of the space. It is defined by clear glass seamless windows and fluted panels sometimes. Natural light plays the most important role in this style. Light colored furniture is opted for this style. Finished metal or wood is often spotted as a part of this style. Marble and granite coverings in subtle colors are preferred. In this style too, various textures are used with a mix of various materials. All in all, it is a very aesthetically and carefully designed style! This style also boasts double height spaces and openness in the plan. It is a go-to style for any Indian household. Lastly, adding a few abstract paintings on the wall is the cherry on top!

Concluding, i would like to add that i would be blogging once every week (because i have work to do guys!), so stay tuned for more such interesting stuff related to architectural design.
