3 ways to upgrade your rental home

Hey folks welcome back, today i am going to highlight some of my researched data which will transform your space and give you an amazing interior updo! In case you are living in a rental home, these are definitely useful for you. With these ways of changing the look of your rented house ; where the landlord would not allow you to make permanent changes in the house, you can go a long way! These techniques are quick and easy to execute and require no particular skillset. Just some tools and you are good to go! So let us discuss these in detail and evaluate accordingly.
  1. WALLS! This point focuses on ways to redo your wall for that much needed new look. First of all, you will need pieces of MDF cut according to your wall measurement like the image shown below. Second step is to divide the wall in the number of segments you want; both horizontally and vertically. A little math is required here! You need to know the length of a piece of mdf required. (like for eg.- say 12" x 3"). Remember to adjust for any switch boards and windows that might come in your way. Third step is to stick the MDF boards on the wall with the help of 'command strips'. Now the doubt here that often arises is 'wont the paint or the layer underneath the command strip come off with it while removing it?'. The answer is no. When you stick the command strip to your wall, make sure you do so keeping the tab to the bottom. To effortlessly remove the command strip, you need to pull the strip downward by the tab provided, let it stretch like an elastic and keep slowly pulling in a downward direction till it comes off the wall. These MDF boards can be painted to your liking. Voila! You are done.

You are now in possession of a stylish wall in your rented apartment. (like shown below).

You can also use use mouldings on the walls for temporary wall panelling which will require a lot of cutting though!
The second way to decorate your walls is to arrange for peel and stick wallpapers. No, they dont rip of the paint when you remove them!

There are peel and stick backsplashes available for the kitchen too!

  2. FLOORING! yes you can redo your flooring of your rental home. You can achieve this by arranging for a peel and stick flooring/decal flooring tiles of your choice. You can also use laminate planks, vinyl tiles, vinyl sheets and artificial grass.

Counter top tables can also be made new by peel and stick paper application.

   3. ACCESSORIES! This pointer talks about your door handles around the house/room. Landlords often give outdated door handles or handles which might not be to your liking. So you can change them to give a new look to the room and trust me changing the hardware drastically affects the way a room looks! Handles are available in various shapes, sizes and finishes. (chrome plated, bronze plated, brass finish, etc.)

Apart from handles, one can also experiment with various lighting fixtures! The way the lighting falls on objects, its penumbra, its intensity, etc. changes from one lighting to other. So just changing the lighting fixtures can do wonders to your space. Go ahead and try it for a new space!

Battery powered LED lights are also available which can be stuck to surfaces wherever required.

So this is all i have for you, guys! Hope all of this works for you! Looking forward to beautiful rented spaces! ;) i write off with a relief of parting with all this knowledge! I am glad if this helps you. Show some love you guys! (like it ;)) See you next week with yet another interesting piece of information!
